It is shown here that multiplier hysteresis and image motion can be ruled out as major sources of error in limb darkening observations made in June, 1986. In the red part of the spectrum the new observations are made using a silicon diode as detector. On those days when the detector was changed, the diode yielded almost the same results as the multiplier for the limb darkening in the overlap spectral region.
