Telescopes: Aperture Synthesis
Scientific paper
This paper presents a review of multiaperture-synthesis telescope (MST) systems with a large field of view, developed abroad as an alternative to single telescopes with diameters of ≍10 m and larger. Primary attention is directed at analyzing the requirements on space-based (MST) systems in order to obtain diffraction-limited image quality and on the technical designs of the automated adjustment and phasing systems.
