The problem of solutions asymptotic with respect to the equilibrium position of an autonomous Hamiltonian system with two degrees of freedom in the case of second-order resonance is investigated using the methods of Markeev and Shcherbina (1987, 1990). Necessary and sufficient conditions of existence and an approximate analytical representation of the asymptotic solutions are found. The results obtained are applied to the problem of the motions of a dynamically symmetric satellite that are asymptotic with respect to its regular precessions in a circular orbit.
