Observations of pulsating aurora were made from Tromsø during the Winter 1967-68. The data which were obtained from 4 photometers pointing in different directions in the meridian plane, have been analysed to investigate the diurnal variation of the occurrence of pulsating aurora. Also the dependence of latitude and magnetic activity has been investigated. The results indicate that the pulsating aurora mainly occurs in a spiral shaped region being situated in the southern part of the morning sector of the auroral oval.
