A significant statistical difference is found in Pc3 pulsations observed before the bow shock front and on the Earth surface. The properties were found to conform only for pulsations on the Earth surface and waves excited in the solar wind in the subsolar region of the shock front in the 9 to 13 LT range. The linear dimensions of this region were determined and found to coincide with an extended region of diffuse ion generation on the shock front.
