The problem of formation of a wave train from an axisymmetric initial
disturbance caused by the fall of a celestial body into water is solved
by the method of the potential of a double layer. It is shown that two
regions - of shortwave disturbances and of longwave flow - exist at the
stage of-formation of the wave structure from the initial disturbance.
