Data derived from experimental model studies of the elastic properties of rocks of various compositions under high pressures and temperatures inherent in the thermobaric regimes of the upper lithosphere are generalized. The geophysical implications of the data are discussed. New results of experimental studies of the electrical characteristics of metamorphic rocks of ultrabasic composition at P <= 20 kbar and T <= 1000°C are presented.
