The operating conditions of a low-temperature telescope in the atmosphere of residual gases in vacuum are analyzed. A physical model is developed for the contamination process of the receiver mirror of the telescope under the conditions of a diffuse flow of particles to its receiver mirror. An example of the practical use of this model is shown for determining the temporal stability of the telescope against contamination of its receiver mirror by particles of the ambient gas.
