A theoretical model is developed to study the volume emission rate profiles of the O(S-1) and O(D-1) emissions under proton bombardment. All possible sources of these emissions are considered and recent experimental cross sections are used in the calculations. Emission intensities are computed by using Maxwellian and power law spectra for precipitating protons. The effects on the emission intensities due to various parameters involved in the proton spectra are studied. The results presented in this study can directly be used to study the O(S-1) and O(D-1) emissions in proton aurora as well as the solar proton events.
