On the basis of absorption formulas, temperature and pressure gradients, and chemical composition of the Martian atmosphere, the microwave absorption around peak resonance frequencies in the altitude range 0-185 km in steps of 5 km were computed. The width of the absorption line and total absorption for the whole atmosphere were also calculated. The values of the absorption coefficient at peak resonance frequency are higher for the Martian atmosphere than for the earth's atmosphere, while the reverse is true for the absorption line width values.
