It has been recently pointed out by Walraven et al. (1992) that the Delta Scuti star AI Vel could be oscillating at the mmag level with more periods than the fundamental radial and the first overtone, as was assumed until now. However, the reality of these new periods should be taken with caution because of their low amplitudes. The amplitudes are not only low (a few millimags), but in the frequency range under investigation they are difficult to distinguish from the many frequencies which may be excited by non-linear coupling of the two large-amplitude radial modes. The detection of new periodicities is critically dependent on the photometric quality of the data. Fortunately we have an advantage in the case of the HADS stars: the non-linear interactions of the new frequencies with the radial high-amplitude ones.
