The β-decay half-lives of r-process nuclides near Z=50, N=82 shell
closures are calculated within the finite Fermi-system theory. To
describe the ground state properties, the ETFSI approximation has been
used. Comparison is made with exact self-consistent calculations,
previous large-scale predictions and experimental data.
