Nonlinear kinetic phenomena which occur in a plasma are discussed; subjects treated in the review include coherent wave-wave interactions, wave-wave-particle interactions, random phase waves, resonant three-wave interactions in an inhomogeneous plasma, large-amplitude effects, and turbulent plasmas. In addition, the parametric coupled-mode treatment of the influence of a strong wave in a plasma is considered; the sideband or trapped particle instability, the saturation of nonlinear instabilities, and strong Langmuir turbulence are also mentioned.
