Feasonable simulation of magnetospheric reconnection requires multiscale algorithms that can efficiently resolve fast reconnection. We present "particle-in-cell(PIC)-accurate" computations of reconnection-layer physics for the GEM problem extended to an effectively infinite domain; our computations embed a PIC algorithm situated in the reconnection region within an MHD algorithm.
