An analysis is made of mean latitudinal profiles of the meridional drift of the large-scale solar magnetic fields. The previously detected equatorward migration of the drift pattern in the course of a cycle is confirmed. Evidence for the existence of a near-equatorial narrow zone ±7° with an equatorward drift with a rate of about 1 m s-1 is obtained. The study revealed a significant difference in shapes and variations of average drift profiles for the large-scale magnetic field and small magnetic features (Komm, Howard, and Harvey, 1993).
