The multiwavelength observations of our Universe start to reveal the primordial phases of hierarchical galaxy formation. I will describe the simulations of high-z galaxy mergers and starbursts, we have undertaken. This work is motivated by the understanding of the current observations and the preparation of the scientific programmes of the next generation of instruments. Its first application to simulated observations with ALMA, FIRST/Herschel and NGST will be presented.
