Total column amounts and vertical profiles of O3 and N2O have been observed with a tunable diode laser heterodyne spectrometer at Poker Flat, Alaska (65°N, 147°W) from February 17 to March 10, 1997 and from April 1 to May 8, 1997. Poker Flat was usually located outside the polar vortex during these early to late spring periods, but sometimes located inside the vortex as in the cases of March 10 and April 17. The correlation plots between O3 and N2O show that O3 amount in the lower stratosphere was chemically depleted inside the polar vortex
