A high statistics measurement of the deuteron spectrum over the kinetic energy per nucleon range 90 to 850 MeV/n, at several magnetic latitudes, was performed by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) during the Shuttle flight STS-91 at altitudes near 380 km on a 51.7o orbit. Above the geomagnetic cutoff the observed deuteron flux is compatible with Leaky Box Model predictions. Below the geomagnetic cutoff a second spectrum was observed.
