The results of the first stage of statistical analysis of twilight observations accumulated at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory of the Georgian Academy of Sciences from 1942-1952 are discussed. Twilight characteristics from zenith observations, average data on the vertical profile of the scattering coefficient in the mesosphere, and solutions of certain methodological problems, including verification of various premises of the theory of the twilight phenomenon, are presented.
