The face-on spiral Seyfert galaxy MCG8-11-11 was observed in the hard X-ray region of the spectrum (15-300 keV) during a stratospheric balloon flight on July 16, 1987. The emitted photon spectrum was well described by a single power law of photon index -1.94 which corresponds to a luminosity of 4.6 x 10 to the 44th erg/s (H0 = 50 km/s Mpc) over the range 20 to 100 keV. Comparison with earlier measurements shows that the hard X-ray luminosity has varied by a factor of at least four over a period of several years. A nuFnu plot of available data from radio to energetic gamma-rays reveals that the overall power output is dominated by the low eneryg gamma-ray emission.
