One of the prerequisites for the study of cosmic-ray isotopic composition was the development of detector technology capable of providing measurements of the required precision. This was accomplished during the 1970s, and these technological advances are described in the next section. This description is between different experiments and extrapolation of the data to the cosmic-ray source, unfolding the effects of galactic propagation and solar modulation. The comparison between cosmic-ray source matter and solar-system material is given and several models for the nucleosynthesis and the evolution of cosmic-ray source matter are also presented. (AIP)
