In the linear approximation of Poincaré gauge theory with condition α +2a/ 3=0 of parameters included in gravitational Lagrangian, propagating massless modes of the torsion field are examined. Requiring a form of field equation for massless field tilde{t}λ μ ν with symmetry obtained from the Young table [2, 1], we can determine relations of parameters in the gravitational field equations. Then we find that all the propagating components are absorbed in a gauge freedom of the total gravitational field equations. Consequently, any mode of the torsion field cannot be propagating as a normal field in the case with α +2a/ 3=0.
