We propose to conduct a variability survey of the Arches cluster near the Galactic Center with the Gemini North adaptive optics system Altair in combination with NIRI. The goal is to discover eclipsing binaries in this young massive cluster for which we will determine accurate parameters with subsequent spectroscopy. A direct and independent measurement of fundamental parameters of massive Arches cluster stars will be important for modeling high-mass star formation, stellar atmospheres and evolution.
