Massive young stellar objects are often observed on the borders of Galactic HII regions. The formation of these objects may be due to the "collect and collapse" process, triggered by the expansion of the HII regions. We propose to use MOPRA to study the distribution of the molecular material associated with nine HII regions which are candidates for the collect and collapse process. Large scale mapping of these objects and their associated photodissociation regions in the CO (1-0) emission lines (12CO and isotopes) will allow us to search for several signatures of the collect and collapse process. Such observations should confirm (or reject) the existence of layers of dense molecular material collected between the ionization and the shock fronts surrounding the ionized gas, as well as the existence of massive fragments in the direction of these layers. Seven days are necessary for this study.
