The previously conducted studies of the polarization of Pi 2's at ground-based stations are briefly considered. For a number of reasons, the information obtainable on the basis of these studies does not appear to be entirely satisfactory. It is concluded that a comprehensive and mathematically objective study of the polarizations of high latitude Pi 2's is essential. In the present investigation, all the data used in computing the polarizations of the Pi's are from the University of Alberta array. This array used three-component flux gate magnetometers, oriented in H, D, Z, coordinates. Events were selected from all seasons of the year. By using the new data in the investigation, it is found possible that the numerous and different observations discussed in connection with the evaluation of the previous studies can be fitted to a relatively simple and consistent pattern.
