The geomagnetopause is studied by means of a system of equations for the moments of distribution functions. The system is derived from kinetic equations and Maxwell equations; both the pressure anisotropy and the anomalous resistance are taken into account. The corresponding Rankine-Hugoniot conditions are used in connection with the magnetopause-rotational shock wave for qualitative treatment of the relation between some magnetospheric processes and some interplanetary magnetic field parameters.
