It was observed that all returned lunar samples contain a remanent magnetization. The magnetic properties of lunar samples are considered along with aspects of remanent magnetization in lunar samples, the origin of the lunar magnetic field, and questions of meteorite magnetism. It is hoped that examination of meteorite magnetism will provide significant insights into the importance of magnetic fields in the evolution of the solar system.
