WITH the known relation existing between the sun and terrestrial
magnetic disturbance, it is not surprising that some indication of a
change in the earth's magnetism might be expected during a solar
eclipse; and the case cited by the Rev. S. J. Perry, of its supposed
observation by M. Lion, is not the first instance of the kind.
