The Magdalena Ridge Observatory Interferometer (MROI) is designed to be a 10 element optical/near-infrared interferometer located West of Socorro, NM at about 3200 meters altitude. In recent months, we have completed building our beam-combining facilities on Magdalena Ridge and now have several ongoing build contracts for many of our subsystems, including telescopes, telescope enclosures, optics, delay lines and a fast tip-tilt/stellar acquisition system. Additionally, personnel at the Observatory offices at New Mexico Tech (NMT) and with our collaborators at the University of Cambridge are designing/building a host of equipment including an automated end-to-end alignment system, beam steering and reducing systems, beam combiners, fringe-tracking and science cameras and the entire control software system. Finally, Scientific Working Groups (SWGs) are being assembled to develop scientific commissioning programs, expected to commence after first finges in late 2010. We present an update on all these activities along with the anticipated science areas in which MROI will contribute during the next decade. Support for MROI comes through Federal funding administered to NMT under a cooperative agreement with the Naval Research Lab/Office of Naval Research.
