Numerous studies suggest that stronger Lyα absorbers are more closely associated with galaxies, while weaker absorbers arise in the intragroup medium surrounding concentrations of galaxies near the absorber redshift. What can absorbers tell us about the properties of the intragroup medium in varying galactic environments? I start by looking at the galactic environments of absorbers within the most recent HI surveys. Limited absorber data are available within current ALFALFA and AGES fields.
