The Lunar Occultation Workbench (LOW) is a freeware program that has been available since 1995. In the course of the years LOW has become a popular and powerful program for the calculation of lunar occultations of stars and planets. It also allows the observer to record his observations and export them in the ILOC format. Versatile views of the Moon and the occulted star or planet can be shown. Views of the lunar limb profiles give the user a clearer idea of what can be/has been observed. In the article a brief description is given of LOW's history, current functionality and future direction.
