During the Apollo missions, geophysical instruments were deployed on the lunar surface and in orbit around the moon to study geophysical properties of the moon's interior and its near environment. A summary is presented concerning some of the findings of these geophysical experiments. Though several experiments have yielded extremely interesting results concerning extralunar properties, emphasis is placed on experimental results pertaining to the lunar interior and atmosphere. Results are presented for the following experiments: (1) passive and active seismometers; (2) magnetometers; (3) heat flow experiment; (4) laser altimeter; (5) gamma ray, X-ray, and alpha particle experiments; and (6) mass spectrometer experiments.
