Scientific paper

A regolith core was taken from the Sea of Crisis by Luna-24, to be
examined for meteorite-bombardment ejecta from nearby mare areas. The
packaging of the core sample and methods for its handling in the capsule
and receiving chamber are described. Initial investigation of the sample
shows that the cross section is not homogeneous.
