The UV continuum in Herbig-Haro (HH) objects bears the signature of HI two-photon (2q) emission as determined with recent IUE observations. Since the spectral energy distribution of the 2q emission is known theoretically observations of reddened HR objects are proposed in which the measured UV contiuum would be used in combination with the theoretical distribution to obtain the UV extinction curve. Existing evidence for low UV extinction toward HII objects measured to date is discussed. First-time observations of HH 11 and additional observations of HH 43 are proposed. In the latter case, in addition to extinction measurements, confirmation of absorption features seen in an earlier SWP spectrum is sought, along with an analysis of possible variability in Lyman band H2 fluorescent emission-lines. The data will be analyzed in conjunction with a shock wave modeling code.
