Meridional neutral wind velocities in the F-region, determined from incoherent scatter radar measurements at Millstone Hill, MA and from Fabry-Perot spectrometer observations at Fritz Peak, CO, during the night of June 27 and 28, 1984 are compared. The differences observed between the two stations are reconciled in terms of local time variations in the general circulation pattern for that night as predicted from the NCAR thermospheric model, with consideration given to the methods used to derive the motions with the two techniques.
