Methods for predicting solar proton events and proton fluxes in flares
are discussed. An effort is then made to predict solar proton flares for
the 22nd 11-year solar cycle on the basis of the relationship between
the distribution parameters of solar-proton-event characteristics and
Wolf numbers.
