We study the evolution of the 19 July 2009 impact cloud in Jupiter at 58°S latitude. The impact cloud expanded zonally from ˜ 5000 km to 225,000 km in 3.5 months. Expansion was due to the zonal winds and their meridional and vertical shears. Nonlinear simulations with EPIC code indicates low vertical wind shears at the impact latitudes. The cloud reflectivity decreased in time exponentially with a characteristic scale of 15 days.
