The effects of scattering and interferometer sensitivity on VLBI angular resolution are summarized. Atmospheric, interplanetary, and interstellar scattering, and scattering due to the envelope of the object limit the baseline maximum length for 1 cm waves to 1 million km; for metric waves it is several thousand km. For centimeter waves, sensitivity limits baselines to 100,000 km, with approximately 40 microarcsec angular resolution.
