Previous analysis of dust impacts detected during the Cassini Saturn Orbit Insertion (SOI) ring plane crossings has given the particle size distribution and number density as a function of the vertical distance (z) from the ring plane at the two SOI ring plane crossings. In this paper, we calculate the intensity of light scattered by the dust particles in the ring plane using Cassini Radio and Plasma Wave Science (RPWS) measurements. We present Mie theory calculations of extinction, scattering, and the angular distribution of scattered light due to these particles.
