Magnetic field expressions from the current-ribbon and the thick-current versions of the continuous distribution of a current density model are presented, and their merits are discussed. The latitudinal and vertical parameters of the equatorial electrojet (EEJ) were derived from the same set of data. A very good agreement was obtained between these parameters and their values from other sources, indicating their internal consistency. The local noon and daytime means of certain EEJ key parameters are presented.
