Originally filling a thin gap between two expanding clouds of dust in a
closed model universe, Schwarzschild geometry in the final stage of
collapse grows into a ever-lengthening corridor that represents a
gravity wave (zero Ricci curvature, nonzero Weyl curvature) and totally
dominates the crunch.
