It is shown that when an electromagnetic wave travels in a waveguide against the force of gravity, it experiences distributed reflection which converts the waveguide into a gravitational resonator cavity. The placing of such a cavity on the scale of a balance makes it possible, in a thought experiment, to weigh directly a photon which has an inertial and gravitational mass in the guided mode.
