Professor P. C. Gregory, of the University of Toronto, describes the
recent radio outburst of Cygnus X-3, and presents the overall picture of
the source which has been gleaned from observations at many wavelengths.
These observations are reported in full in the two articles following,
and in a special issue of Nature Physical Science next Monday.
