Scientific paper

The optical fabrication and testing of the optical components for two
large optical telescopes is described. These systems are the 88-inch
aperture telescope for the University of Hawaii, and the 85-inch
telescope for the Universidad de La Plata. A brief historical account of
events leading to the large optics facility is included.
