The diagram log NT vs. log D25 is used to analyze the completeness of a large sample of galaxies collected for a study of the kinematics of the local Universe. The direct result shows that the slope differs from the value -3 expected for a homogeneous 3D-space. This can be interpreted in principle by assuming either that the sample is not complete or that the Universe is not homogeneous. It is shown that the presence of the nearby flat structure of the Local Supercluster accounts almost completely for the observed slope of the completeness curve.
