[N II] λ6583 Å and Hα λ6563 Å line profiles have been obtained at "seeing limited" spatial resolutions over a 2 arcmin field centred on NGC 5189. The inner regions of the nebula are shown to comprise a ring of condensations expanding at 25 km s-1 from the central star. The condensations are in a plane the normal to which is at an angle of 78° with the line-of-sight. Morphologically and kinematically NGC 5189 resembles NGC 650-1, and if viewed along the axis of the ring of condensations would also resemble NGC 2392.
