Current status and future plans of a new experimental cosmology group at KEK are reviewed. The group was formed in December 2007. Its primary goal is to measure polarization of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) with unprecedented precision, which will provide unique pieces of information about inflation of the universe. To this end, the KEK CMB group is currently involved in the QUIET experiment, and also plans to contribute to the POLARBeaR experiment. The sensitivity with data from both experiments combined is expected to be the best among other experiments in the next decade. To go beyond these ground-based experiments, a dedicated satellite mission will be needed. R&D toward this goal has also been launched at KEK as a collaborative effort with other institutions.
