The dischronal region (the region containing closed timelike curves) in Gott's idealized two-string spacetime is shown to be identical to one of the two dischronal regions of Grant's generalized Misner space, and a family of isometries between the Gott and Grant regions is constructed. These isometries are shown to hold for at least an open neighborhood of the chronology horizons as well. This result is used to argue that Grant's calcuation of the (slowly diverging) vacuum polarization at the chronology horizon of Grant space carries over without change to Gott space.
