It has recently been suggested that galactic dark matter halos could be made of very heavy charged particles (20 to 1000 TeV). The authors show that present observations and experimental limits are hardly compatible with such a scenario. The best chance, if any, would be in the upper mass range near or above 1000 TeV which can be unambiguously explored by specific experiments that they discuss.
