DURING the total solar eclipse of October 1 ionospheric observations
were made at three points in South Africa by the following three
institutions: Cruft Laboratory, Harvard; Commonwealth Solar Observatory,
Canberra; Bernard Price Institute for Geophysical Research,
Johannesburg.
